Are you always running late? Well, I guess this post is one for you. Today I wanted to share 10 of my top tips and tricks on how you can save time in the mornings. These tips are so simple you might even be able to follow them in half-asleep mode, but they’ll make you look like you just spent hours getting ready for a red carpet.
Preparing your skin the night before makes all the difference. I always apply a generous amount of moisturiser and a hydrating oil to make my skin look plump and healthy in the mornings. My favourite affordable face oil is the The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum In Oil.
I like to keep my everyday makeup in a separate makeup bag or just lay them out on my dressing table the night before to save time in the morning. The last thing you have time for in the mornings is searching for products in your drawers.
Having a simple, 5 product makeup routine will be a lifesaver in the mornings. All you need for that is a concealer to get rid of under-eye circles, foundation to even out your complexion, a cream blush to give your face a nice glow and you can also use it on your lips, tinted brow gel and mascara. With just a handful of simple steps you’ll achieve a beautiful and wide awake complexion and you’ll be ready to take on the day.
Sticking with makeup, I find that mixing a bit of your moisturiser with foundation saves so much time in the mornings and you get the best of both worlds in just one go. This trick is perfect for days when you don’t feel like caking on the makeup, but don’t want to spend money on an extra tinted moisturizer. I’ve been doing this almost everyday lately and my skin looks wide awake.
I found this trick on Pinterest the other day and I’m seriously impressed. All you need for that is an eyelash curler and your favourite kohl pencil or gel liner. Draw a line across the edge of the eyelash curler where it’ll touch your lid right above your lashes and curl. Et voilá, there you have perfectly curled lashes and a straight eyeliner in just a few seconds.
Multitaksing products will make your life so much easier especially in the mornings. Whether it is a two in one shower gel and peeling like the Nivea Creme Peeling or a creme blush like the NYX Creme Blushes multitaskin products are amazing for when you’re in a rush but still don’t want to give up on your favourite beauty regimes.
I always like to plan my outfits the night before so I don’t have to stress about it when I’m in a rush. Planning ahead will not only save you time but also keep you from wearing your pajama top to Uni or work because you just can’t find something to wear and yes that’s happended to me before haha.
Want to achieve gorgeous waves while you’re sleeping? Well you can, by simply working texturising cream into your hair like the Bumble and Bumble Texture Cream make two french braids and sleep on it. Undo your braids the next morning and you’ll have cute, messy waves.
If the first option isn’t for you, then this hairstyle literally takes 5 minutes even for girls with very thick hair. I just put my hair into a high ponytail and start curling about an inch sections. You can either leave your hair like that in a curly ponytail or remove the hair band for beautiful soft, Victoria’s Secret waves.
When I’m in a rush, I just can’t afford to think too long about my colour palette so I always stick to neutral tones. Nude lipsticks like my favourite MAC Modesty or nude nail polish like Essie’s Sand Tropez. I also think that nude lipsticks are more forgiving when you mess up during the application.
