Winter is by far my least favourite season. The freezing rain and grey sky with little to no sunlight make me want to board up my doors and spend all day inside. It feels like only yesterday I was strolling outside in the sun, but those days of having that radiant sunkissed glow are over, at least for the next few months. Now instead of whining I wanted to share my current makeup routine and how I’ve changed up my products for winter. New season, new makeup routine am I right? I’ve found some amazing new products that I’m very excited to share with you and I also have a special giveaway for you guys. Read on to find out more!
All about that base
I have the most dehydrated skin at the moment so I try to stay away from any harsh ingredients in my makeup products. I’m currently using the 100% Pure Water Foundation which is a very hydrating base, offering a beautiful dewy finish and the best part: this foundation is, as the name suggest, 100% pure and creates to most natural looking and flawless base. Let me know if you want to see a full review on this product because I’m absolutely obsessed with it. I recently started using a new bronzer too because all the bronzers I had in my makeup collection were way too orange for a my pale winter skin. The Clarins Bronzing Duo is perfect for the colder months because it adds a lovely healthy glow to the cheeks and it’s just the right colour for me. To tame my eyebrows, I use a Zoeva Brow Pencil and my all time favourite Zoeva Brow Gel. The real new gem in my makeup routine is the Clarins Highlighter from their current Christmas Collection. I absolutely love how sparkly it is and I think now is the perfect time to add a little bit more shine and glitter to your makeup. I run it along my cheekbones and add a dot to my cupid’s bow.
I love wearing red lipstick during winter. I know: groundbreaking! But how pretty is a red lip for Christmas? My favourite red lipstick will always be MAC Russian Red, I’ve been wearing it for years and years and I never find a shade that I prefer over this. Russian red is a matte lipstick so I usually like to add a lipgloss on top of it. I used the Clarins Lip Oil also from their recent Christmas collection and I think it adds such a beautiful shine to the lips and helps them stay hydrated throughout the day.
Now onto the most exciting party about this post: I’ve teamed up with Clarins to give away two products from their current Christmas makeup range. You have a chance to win the Clarins Top Coat Mascara and the Clarins Lip Oil in the shade Red Berry Glam. This giveaway is open internationally and you can enter through the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck everyone, I hope you’re all enjoying the run up to Christmas and let me know you current makeup favourites in the comments.
